Frost Giant

Mystara Compendium Miscellanea

With the recent Thor movie changing what many people, including several gamers, think of frost giants, the traditional D&D variant may seem fairly mild. That is until you factor in their immense stature, indomitable statistics, tendencies to work in teams, monstrous pets, and the capability for magical spellcasters among them. Read on….

* Armor is half as effective for giants, but they suffer half the penalties for wearing it as well. Most giants have a natural armor of 4 to which their worn armor adds.

Also known as Jutons, these humanoids, that often stand as tall as 18 feet tall, have the proportions of a muscled human. Their skin is white with a deep cyan cast to it, and they often have blond hair, or light blue colored hair. Frost Giants are known to be cruel and malicious to all smaller humanoids around them. They are also proud warriors and fiercely guard their territory from outsiders. Frost Giants share much of the personality traits of the antalian humans. Their relations are important to them, but they don’t care about strangers, even other jutons.

Frost Giants are most common in the Northern Reaches and Northern Brun, excluding the Wyrmsteeth area, but that isn’t the same as them being a common sight. Unlike the humans of the regions they call home, frost giants champion self-reliance and do not show compassion. They are as hard as the lands they call home. While frost giants are proud when their young adults win impressive victories, they are unlikely to care for the sick and infirm, and they brutally ridicule any giant who needs help to survive on their own. War is one exception because when they band together in battle they increase the chance for all of them to attain glory.

I’ve thrown in Fire Giant because their fluff never got finished.
